It has been a little over a month since I have made diet adjustments and I am seeing positive results. I am eating more salads, generally feeling a little better, and I have lost a little weight. I am going to stick to my guns and try not to stray away.

The worst part of eating salads is that since I am only having 2 meals a deal I want warm meals. I am not sure why but it is what I truly desire. I have been eating Wendy’s chili and potatoes since they are not bad and they are warm. I still eat salads, though.

I am now trying to get into the habit of taking my vitamin. I find that these help also and it is a good thing to do anyway. The trouble is remembering to take it.

So today we built our office in the garage. We also finished painting the entire place and it looks good. We have a lot of positive comments about and and it seems are prices are low as no one has baulked at them thus far. Our main customer base is currently Spanish speakers that live in the area.

We are working on expanding that so we can keep a steady flow of work. I hope to be completely self employed within a year so I no longer need to work full time. I will also begin looking for side work to fill the time and get extra money.

The office itself did turn out nice and will server it’s purpose for printing invoices and looking up car data sheets. It is the right size and does not take up a lot of space.

I am trying to get back into the habit of taking a daily vitamin. I am not always eating like I should and they also make me feel better in the long run. I stopped for a while when I was traveling as they became harder to find. I am now getting back into the habit.

I am also eating better which I am sure is helping as well. I am making a concious effort to have more vegtables with each meal if possible.

I realized that I have made no declaration as to the purpose or mission of this blog. I have written it up and here it is:

  1. To record my travels and photos
  2. To (hopefully) make a little money off the ads
  3. To keep me motivated to reach my goals of perpetual travel and freedom
  4. To keep friends and family up to date once I am gone
  5. A personal journal of sorts
  6. To share good tips and tricks as I find them and also to record them so I don’t have to remember
  7. To get more people interested in traveling outside their own country more
  8. To vent when I need too
  9. To force me to research more and be less lazy
  10. A fun hobby and justification of the web hosting fees

Seems that today I have a bit of writer’s block. I am taking a day off from blogging to hopefully alleviate this.

So it turns out that I am going to LA for a few days for training for work. I will get a chance to visit a friend, have some In N Out burgers, and earn quite a few miles as well. I am looking forward to some time on the road since I have not travelled in quite a while for work.

I am leaving the night of Aug 19 and returning the night of the 22nd. I am flying Delta (of course) in and out of LAX. I will enjoy the extra miles, money, and time away from the office. I hope to see something picture worthy while I am there.

Today I managed to get a 35,000 skymile ticket to Cartagena, Colombia from Atlanta. I will fly Delta to Miami, FL and Avianca to Cartagena. I will depart on Feb 24 and return on Mar 4. This will give me a total of 8 days in Colombia.

The main purpose of this trip is to explore a little more of South America and look at a condo to buy on the beach. If all goes well it will fall into my master plan of perpetual travel by giving me a place to live for half the year and save money. By the time I start living there the place should be nearly paid for.

Other than that I plan to spend some time on the beach and see the surrounding areas. I also want to work on my Spanish so this will be a good opportunity for that as well. I now have a little something to look forward too and I hope it all goes as planned!

I finally got all my photos from Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania uploaded to the photo site. It took the better part of this afternoon to get it done. I took nearly 400 photos on the 18-day trip.

It includes photos of: Krakow, Auschwitz, Lviv, Chisnau, Cave Monestary, Brasov, Castles, and Bucharest.

I hope you enjoy them!

I got an email from Delta. Here it is:

Hello Mr. Traveler,

We’re curing island fever with Hawaiian Airlines, our newest SkyMiles® Partner. With this partnership you may earn and redeem miles on inter-island flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines and shop for Award Travel on Hawaiian Airlines using our Online Award Calendar, providing you access to approximately 100 daily flights connecting Honolulu, Maui, Kauai, Hilo, and Kona.

Additionally, you can earn or redeem miles on Hawaiian Airlines operated non-stop flights between Honolulu and Sydney, Australia, and beginning April 14th on new service to Manila, Philippines.

So book your next island vacation and get hopping!

So there you have it folks! This makes my future around the world ticket much better for me. I can finally see Hawaii on my way out of here when I finally do leave! I am sure I will be camera happy there as it is an expensive place so I cannot stay long.

Today I flew Northwest instead of Delta since the ticket was $50 cheaper (and short notice). I still got the normal mileage with Delta since they are both Skyteam airlines and that is ok. I had an exit row seat on an OLD DC-9 jet. This will be the last time I fly one of these if I can help it. I think the jet was older than me and it was uncomfortable and loud since the emergency exit door seemed to be loose.

Also it sounded like there was a pin hole in the door next to me as I could hear the air very loudly. Others around me were mildy concerned about it as well but all went fine. It was too loud to even use my ipod.

On top of all that they charge for food of any type. At least with Delta I get some peanuts or something but I have to cough up at least $2 for that. This made me unhappy as I generally like to have a little something on the plane to munch on. When I (or my company) pays $360 for a round trip domestic ticket you would think they could afford some chips or SOMETHING.

This is more of a venting post but I will be avoiding Northwest if at all possible in the future. Delta seems to have their act together on things such as this and their service is also better in my opinion. End rant.
