I am trying to do these 3 at once. I have found some resources online and have compiled what I think is a resonable list. Their are some extreme tips out there but these are the guidelines that I follow that I feel are not too prohibitive to my everyday life.
- Combining trips and delay one errand until I have at least one other to do
- Watching the price of crude oil online and buying gas accordingly
- Emptying my car of all non-essentials
- Coasting more, braking less
- Skipping the drive thru and going inside (parking)
- Walking more (which means more than 0)
- Ordering more things online (it usually cheaper anyway)
- Using mass transit if time and logistics allow
- Going to places closer to home
- Keep tires inflated, oil changed regularly, etc
- Driving during cooler times to use A/C less
- Accelerating lightly when possible
- Neutral when coasting down hills
None of these are terribly difficult to follow just take some concious effort to get in the habit of doing.
